Daylilies Are Our Passion

Here are a few of our seedlings from 2010.See His Glory x Fluff And Stuff
Winter Memories x Puffer Fish
Bordello Queen x Bass Gibson

Daylilies are our passion, and new daylily seedlings in the garden are our pride and joy. The feeling of anticipation when awaiting the opening of the fat daylily bud for the first time never gets old. Every day during daylily season there is always something new to see. How fortunate we are to have such a glorious passion!!!:)

Hemerocallis ~ Twins!

These days are busy in the seedling beds. I'm trying to decide which ones to keep, and which ones to cull (I don't really like this concept, but I know I will be overrun with daylilies if I don't start to reduce at some point). This daylily is the product of my first hybridizing attempt. There's something about it that I like, although it has an older form. I think I'll keep it around for a while.

Daylily Seedling

Seedling from seeds purchased on the Lily Auction in 2005, planted in 2006, and bloomed in 2007. Parents are Fairest Of Them x Shores Of Time. It's so much fun to plant daylily seeds, as each seedling that results is a one of a kind daylily. Just as we are unique individuals resulting from two parents, so are daylily hybrids to their parents. They may be similar to, or a combination of the two, or something totally unique and nothing at all like their parents. It's so much fun to await the first flower opening of a new daylily seedling, that's never been seen before.
