Here are some shots of my winged garden visitors over the past several weeks.
Two striped grasshopper blending in with the hosta.
Damsel flies are so photogenic, and always pose for awhile.
Green bottle flies are pretty, although you don't want to think about where their little feet may have been:).
Another two striped grasshopper on a daylily. I'm not sure what vegetation these grasshoppers consumed, and didn't notice any significant damage in the garden.

Wonderful pictures of your garden critters.
Very often overlooked.
- Cheers.
Even for garden bugs, those are gorgeous images that you captured. What kind of camera do you use? I can barely get a good shot of my energetic dogs!
Thanks Nancy and Guild-rez! I was surprised at the delicate beauty of some of the garden wildlife.
Rowena~ Thanks! I use a Canon Rebel digital SLR. It's a wonderful camera, and captures great shots.
Hiya chey,
I could've done without the blue-bottles :-) but want to compliment on your sharp pictures.
How come that all those visitors leave your Hosta leaves so impeccable?? Are insects better behaved in your part of the world?
Hi Joco~ I hear you~ my kids call them poop flies, so I know exactly where they've been. Their metallic sheen is just so neat though:). Luckily we haven't noticed much insect damage. Lately some sunflowers leaves were almost completely consumed~ I think probably slug damage.
