Song Writer

Since my garden is brown, and the only things I have growing inside on my windowsills are hundreds and hundreds of daylily seedlings, I must resort to posting a picture of another one of my favorite daylilies... Song Writer, hybridized by Stamile in 2003. This daylily is gorgeous with a huge 6.75 inch deep rose colored bloom and a citron green throat. I also love the name of this daylily, and consider it to be very fitting:).

Pretty daylily. It's hard to find unique species of daylilies here. Love your photos of the frost, too. I have a new appreciation of the color 'brown' when I visited your other posts.

Thanks plantgurus! When you don't have blooms, you have to find beauty somewhere. And it's never far away:).

Love this daylily. I just have the old standby, Stella de Oro,

I don't have Stella, but I know she's a profuse bloomer and rebloomer, and a great garden plant:). Thanks for visiting!

So pretty. I have lots of daylilies too. I need to get markers on the rest of mine. I saw the Omelettes one below and thought it must have Reckamp blood in it.~~Dee

Zoe..I agree, it would look great by an old fashioned rose...hmmm. Must make note for future gardening plans!

Dee..great to meet another daylily collector. The Reckamp lines are quite distinct aren't they. I do admire them.

Wow, what a beautiful blog! I have always wanted to visit Nova Scotia. Perhaps one day!

Thank you Mo! I'm sure you would love Nova Scotia, especially in the summertime.

I just planted about a dozen day lilies in my new garden. I ordered them from Oakes and I hope they perform as beautifully as those pictured here!
