Echinacea








Here are the various stages of echinacea blooming in the garden today. I love the spiked immature blooms as much as the full mature ones.

Those are some great shots...I find it interesting how in many the petals come in pointing up and end pointing down...When they dry those spikes can sure poke! I just posted ours now in full bloom...nice timing.

Great echinacea shots. Jason just recently added some large echinacea plants to our garden and it has been fascinating to watch them bloom in their unique way. I think my personal favorite are the spiky "crowns" they make. Thanks for sharing your photos.

Lovely series of photos. Echinaceas are such fantastic flowers! I like them in all their stages, but mostly the funky cone part. Just today I noticed that they are fragrant too.
