Tentacled daylilies are becoming more popular these days. The tissue on the outer part of the petals and and sometimes sepals extends to form tiny tentacles and teeth which often glisten in the sun. These daylilies have a very primitive look which I find very appealing. Here are some of the golden tentacled daylilies blooming in my garden today:
Golden Tentacles
Poet's Reverie
On The Fringe
Golden Tentacles and Poet's Reverie hanging out together, for a dramatic effect.
Poet's Reverie, reaching skywards.
When I first saw tentacled daylilies, they didn't initially appeal to me. The more time I've spent with them, the more I've grown to love them. They look like they belong in some tropical paradise, and here they are growing in my little own maritime garden:).

Absolutely beautiful.
They are so unique and the ruffled edges are my favorite part. These soft colors bring out the veining.
These are lovely Chey.

Karen

I love all the fancy edges on the new daylilies.
I have never seen Daylillies with tentacles, very cute and exotic looking. The colours are lovely too.
