Sadly abandoned, eight robin's nests were removed from our deck eaves today. Four held beautiful robin's eggs, and four were empty. Whatever caused the robin to leave the nests is unclear.There seems to have only been one robin involved in the nest building to begin with, and only one was observed sitting on a nest. We gave her lots of space, but perhaps not enough. Tonight we are robin's egg blue:(~a little corny but true.

That is SO sad Chey. and strange?? It's bizarre that she would keep building somewhere that wasn't to her liking?? How interesting and perplexing. Don't you wish you knew the answer??
Oh, that really is too bad. I know my parents have had trouble with crows scaring away their nesting birds. I love that shade of blue.
They will probably relocate and finish the reproductive cycle. It's always fun to have them close for observation, however. I found a downed nest and put it in a pot plant as a decoration.

I loved all your macros! This is my favorite!!!! Too bad they were abandoned. Who knows why nature does what it does.
